El Plan de Desarrollo Agropecuario de la provincia Independencia es el resultado de varias consultas entre representantes de instituciones del sector agropecuario y productores organizados de esta demarcación fronteriza.

El ministro de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo, Pável Isa Contreras, encabezó hoy el acto de firma que realizó el Instituto para el Desarrollo del Suroeste (INDESUR), de los contratos de obras de riego que forman parte de la ejecución del Plan de Desarrollo Agropecuario de la provincia Independencia.
Este plan de desarrollo agropecuario, cuya dirección operativa está a cargo del director ejecutivo de INDESUR, Frank Alejandro Herasme, es el resultado de varias consultas realizadas entre representantes de instituciones del sector agropecuario y productores organizados de esta demarcación fronteriza.
La actividad se llevó a cabo en el Casino del municipio de Jimaní, donde la gobernadora de la provincia Independencia, Mercedes Novas, pronunció las palabras de bienvenida.
El acto de firma de los contratos estuvo a cargo del director ejecutivo del INDESUR, entidad adscrita al Ministerio de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo, y de los representantes de las compañías adjudicatarias del proceso.

Como parte de la agenda, el ministro de Economía, Isa Contreras, y el director ejecutivo del INDESUR, Herasme, visitaron el municipio de Postrer Río, donde se reunieron con alcaldes de los municipios de la provincia, la gobernadora y los congresistas electos.
En el acto tuvieron participación además, José Rafael Paulino Rodríguez, viceministro de Planificación Sectorial del Ministerio de Agricultura e Hipólito Bazil, director de planeación estratégica del Banco Agrícola.
